Original Greg's Thoughts
56 game season 4-man rotations 4-game series 21 GS rotation eligibility 25 round draft since no 5th and 6th starters ---- Player usage: 56 games: I suggest 36% and 54% to replace the 100% and 150% rules. The old 100% rule changes to: 56g / 162 = .345679 Keith suggested rounding up to .40, but that would result in anyone with 140 MLB games being able to play all 56 SLT games. I suggest we round that to 36% (a little extra) examples: player who played 154 MLB games can play 55 SLT games. player who played 140 MLB games can play 50 SLT games. The old 150% rule (SBA, IP, GS) changes to: we do 36% from above times 1.5 for 54% example: player with 68 MLB SBA gets 37 SLT SBA. example: Tim Burke with 91 MLB IP gets 49 SLT IP example: Dennis Martiez 144.2 MLB IP gets 78 SLT IP ---- Free Agent Draft: Full FA Draft after 28 games, the midpoint. Round robin till midpoint, then round robin till tournament. Drop rules: For 2022 SLT only -- 8 teams, 56 games, with FA Draft at 28 game mark: 17.3% for drop eligibility (games played, games in centerfield, relief innings pitched, starting innings pitched, PA and SBA) (note that this is punitive against PA, IP, SBA, etc., so be careful if you want to drop.) --- 25.9% for post-pickup usage for the categories normally covered by the 150% rule (PA, IP, SBA, etc.) 17.3% for post-pickup usage of Games and CF Games ---- 56 game rule, I just copied the 60 game rule since they're really close. 0 - 3 games 0 4 - 7 games 1 8 - 14 games 2 15 - 21 games 3 22 - 28 games 4 29 - 36 games 5 37 - 45 games 6 46 - 60 games 7
