Scott's Mock Draft

5/5/2026

It's a deep draft this year and a difficult one to predict. Here's my best attempt at it:

Krakow - Typical of a 4-14 team, the Kielbasa have some needs, but do have top end talent across their roster. Offence was a struggle though so they decide to go with the OROY in WR7 Tetairoa McMillan. If Garrett Wilson can return to form after injury and Zay Flowers continues to put up big numbers, Baker Mayfield will have a solid trio of young talent at receiver. With Brock Bowers at TE, this could be a dominant passing attack for years.

Arizona - The Tombstone need to improve their pass rush to get the defence off the field and lean into their strong run game with Derick Henry and Travis Etienne. They take OLB7 James Pearce Jr. who with 12-sacks triples the production of their best pass rusher. While he wasn't considered elite coming out of college, he did post the highest sack count by a rookie since Michah Parsons in 2021. Arizona needs that production immediately.

San Diego - The Sun have no bigger question than who is going to throw Puka Nacua the ball. Tua had a healthy season but doesn't seem to be the long term answer in San Diego. The Sun decide to take potential over production with QB Cam Ward. Ward was by far the top rated QB coming out of college but struggled on a bad team last year. He should continue to develop and improve to give the Sun some stability in the long term.

Las Vegas - The Plague will need to find a replacement for Aaron Rogers and his questionable future, so briefly consider Jaxon Dart or Tyler Shough here. Instead they decide to give Rogers one more year and hope to find his replacement later in the draft. They have some pieces in place on their offensive line but Guard is a need that G9/9 Jonah Jackson fills immediately. He will help the dynamic RB duo of Kyren Williams and Breece Hall have another exceptional season.

Carbon - After allowing 519 points, the Monoxide decide to take the DROY ILB8 Carson Schwesinger. They have bigger needs in the secondary and on the defensive line, but Schwesinger will allow them to shift into a 3-4 defence to get a solid linebacking group onto the field. His 156 tackles with 11 for a loss will immediately upgrade the defense and allow OLB's Andrew Van Ginkel and Odafe Oweh to get after the quarterback.

San Antonio - The Vikings need to build the interior of their offensive line to maximize their two-headed running attack of RB's Jonathan Taylor and Jahmyr Gibbs. With several talented options still available at Guard, they decide to upgrade with G9/7 Tyler Booker; the top-rated guard coming out of Alabama. At only 22-years old, he will anchor the interior of the line for years, while Garrett Bolles and Spencer Brown hold down the Tackle positions.

Kansas City - The Beast have needs on offence after scoring a division low 452-points. There's unfortunately limited top-end depth at WR, where they have their biggest holes. Instead, they decide to continue to build their defence with OLB7 Abdul Carter. He didn't quite live up to the third overall pick with only 4 sacks and being benched twice. His potential is very high though and if he can get on track, will partner with last years first round pick OLB Jared Verse to anchor a solid defence.

Cleveland - With three 1,000+ yard rushers and several elite defensive players, the Force are positioned to take a big step forward this year. They continue building their offensive line and take the best Tackle available in OT 6/8 Will Campbell. Cambell should pair with 25-year old OT Charles Cross as the bookends in Cleveland to protect QB Jalen Hurts and further improve a strong running attack. Although they may not win their division, I expect the Force to challenge for a playoff spot.

Spokane - The Sabrecats finally found their franchise QB in Caleb Williams with their first round pick last year. He is set to lead a talented WR group that includes Jaxon Smith-Njigba. They are lacking a TE to work the middle of the field though so decide to take TE7 Tyler Warren. Adding Warren and another 817-yards with 5 touchdowns, the Spokane passing attack is ready to explode. They fell to New York by 8-points in the playoffs and Warren could help them get past the first round this year.

Indianapolis - QB Sam Darnold, RB James Cook and WR Nico Collins form an exceptional trio on offence. There is also high potential at WR in Rome Odunze and Rashid Shaheed but neither met expectations last year. The Cobras add WR6 Emeka Egbuka who had 938-yeards and 6 touchdowns and becomes their clear #2. If Odunze, Shaheed and Egbuka all reach their full potential, Indianapolis would have a quartet of receivers that could be very hard to stop for years to come.

Albuquerque - Between QB's Joe Burrow and Mac Jones, the Rattlesnakes should have someone to get WR Jamar Chase the ball. WR Malik Nabers injury hurt, but the lack of a running game was obviously a bigger gap on offence. ABQ is thrilled that RB and supposed generational talent Ashton Jeanty falls to them here. His numbers weren't off the charts in his rookie year at 975-yards and 5 touchdowns, but his talent and potential are unquestionable.

Pittsburgh - The Roughriders are devastated that RB Jeanty dropped so far but came off the board the previous pick. RB Zach Charbonnet is an excellent complimentary back, but isn't quite the lead back they need to get to the next level. They decide to take RB TreVeyon Henderson who had 911-yards with a 5.1 yard average. He and Charbonnet will partner to keep defenses guessing and let QB Lamar Jackson find talented WR's George Pickens and Stefon Diggs on the outside.

Alaska - With the top two RB's off the board, the Grizzlies will need to continue leaning on QB Josh Allen in the run game. They briefly consider making it three in a row for running backs, but instead shift to give Allen a safety valve in TE6 Colston Loveland. Considered a top talent coming out of Michigan, Loveland had 713-yards and 6 touchdowns in his rookie year. He will help to take pressure off WR's Amon-Ra St. Brown and Ceedee Lamb and they should be able to address RB in later rounds.

Hollywood - The last of our six 9-9 teams who won their division and had a good run into the playoffs before running into Chicago. They made significant improvement from their 2-16 performance in 2025. While their first overall pick QB Jayden Daniels had injury issues, they have hit on recent defensive picks, including OLB10 Will Anderson Jr. This year they select OT7/6 Kelvin Banks Jr. If OT Joe Alt recovers from injury, the Stars are set at Tackle.

Chicago - An injury to QB Patrick Mahomes and a step backwards for RB's Bucky Irving and Aaron Jones will be a challenge. WR Justin Jefferson also didn't put up his normal other worldly numbers with 'only' 1,048 yards and 4 touchdowns. Fortunately for the Caravan, the defence is stacked at every level and it will be very hard to score on this team. They decide to take G8/8 Grey Zabel who they consider the best player available and will upgrade and add depth on the offensive line.

New York - This team is ridiculous and all the wheeling and dealing has obviously paid off for the Knights front office. New York had the top scoring offence with 615-points and the best defence with only 330-points allowed. Really? WR is the only position there isn't quality starters and depth so the Knights reach for WR6 Parker Washington to try to fill a hole. I also think it's possible there's a trade and New York fills this need, but doesn't pick here.

Good luck everyone, it should be another great draft!
