2008 Trades and Transactions


With OT Ugoh returning from injury Indy has decided to retain the services 
of injury pick up OT Shaffer.  Per the league rules since the injury pick up
occurred prior to the trade deadline this is allowed.

Shaffer will remain in the starting the lineup since he is being signed 
after the start of the NFL season.

To make room on the roster Indy cuts RB Kolby Smith


1) Krakow put the first claim in for the much sought after QB Troy Smith

Krakow releases QB Chris Simms and signs QB Troy Smith

2) As a result Philly does not get Troy Smith and is therefore short one
player so to get back to 44 they welcome back OT John Tait.

3) NY Knights sign OLB3 Gerris Wilkinson and cut WR Craig Davis

With that finally resolved I also announce a post NFL season starting

Las Vegas selects DE Matt Roth and cuts DE Tim Crowder  - per league charter
Roth goes into the starting lineup.  Since the change was rec'd today Roth
will be added to the Vegas roster after the week # 12 games.


To coincide with NFL season starting.

A couple of trades to announce:

1) San Diego trades DE Osi Umenyiora to Pittsburgh for Pitts 3rd rounder in 2009.  
Pitt cuts Jabari Greer.

2) Philly trades OT "Big" Jon Ruyan and its 3rd round pick in 2009 to Mexico City for 
OT Donald Penn and its 1st round pick in 2009. That gives Philly 3 first round picks in 2009.


Denver will pick up P Steve Weatherford in the place of IR Daniel Sepulveda.

Chicago releases the recently acquired QB Troy Smith to pick up DE6 Leonard

LV signs OT Willie Anderson as an injury replacement for Ryan Diem

Denver would like to cut the following players. DE Jarvis Moss and 
RB Shawn Alexander. The Demons would like to pick up DT Jay Alford 
and WR-RET Domenik Hixon.

The Philly Freedom send DL 8 Darnell Dockett their 2nd and 4th round picks in 
2009 to the Hollywood Stars for DE 5 Mark Anderson and Hollywood's 1st and 2nd round
picks in 2009.

For those keeping track at home Hollywood has now traded its 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 
6th round picks next year.  That is going to look like hell on the draft board in

With Tatum Bell being cut by the Lions the Stars follow suit by cutting Bell and 
signing Najeh Davenport who is already on the Stars roster for the injured Bell.

The recently cut Willie Anderson OT 7 (from the Bengals) is released by the Stars 
and sign DT 3 Alan Branch.

Hollywood sends its 3rd round pick in 2009 to Alaska for OT 8 Jonathon Ogden
and a 10th round pick in 2009

As a result of the trade Alaska signs OT Nick Kaczur and Hollywood cuts DT
Alan Branch


Indianapolis cuts TJ Rushing CB3 and adds Lance Moore WR/PR. 
Indianapolis cuts Marty Booker WR and adds WR Derek Hagan. 

Apparently with too much time on his hands during his vacation Hollywood GM
Kevin Watts cuts the recently acquired OLB 4 Tyjuan Hagler and signs OLB 3
Jyles Tucker.

the AFA, you could lose your job just like that.


Hollywood selects QB Joey Harrington for the injured Davide Garrad.

Casey Wiegmann signs to replace the injured Tom Nalen.


Hollywood picks up RB Najeh Davenport to replaced the injured Tatum Bell.

Alaska picks up Stephen Gostkowski K for John Carney's injury.
